Who Wrote This?
So I open a file from a project I was working on last week — something light. Just reviewing old logic. But as I scroll through the code, I freeze. This ain't mine.
I mean, technically it is. VS Code even has the audacity to say I committed it. But I'm staring at a block of logic so foreign, I lowkey feel like I hacked myself.
Comments? Nowhere to be found. Variable names? Bro, what the hell is flaggedGhostChunk supposed to mean??
The Flow State Trap
Then it hits me… this is one of those 2AM masterpieces. You know the ones — you were vibing, maybe playing lo-fi or deep trap, slightly sleep-deprived, completely locked in. You enter a flow state so dangerous you start feeling like a God.
But here's the problem: You wrote it like the bug was the enemy… and now it's YOU who can't even trace the logic. Betrayed by your own genius.
And the worst part? You can't touch it. Like, it works perfectly. All tests pass. Deployment was smooth. But you can't refactor it 'cause you don't even know what to preserve.
So you just close the file slowly, whisper "don't break," and move on with your life like it never happened.
Lesson learned: Late-night code is like drunk texts — sometimes you gotta just accept it, hope for the best, and pray you don't have to explain it in an interview. Until then… flaggedGhostChunk stays untouched.
